Unboxing:
My review:
I bought this online thru Shopee, sold by Dynaquest, it only cost me P7,363 pesos including shipping. With 1-year shop replacement warrant and 3 years of manufacturer warranty, this is really a bargain.
The package includes:
VGA cable
Audio cable
Power cord
Power adapter
Quick start guide
Warranty Card
but NO HDMI cable.
Coming from more than a decade old Acer p223w LCD monitor, the slimness of this Asus VZ229H alone is like comparing a CRT monitor to an LCD. The images are also clear and crisp, videos are smooth and not flickering and the colors are vibrant. I like the matte finished screen, unlike my old Acer monitor which reflects the outside light, thus making me close the curtain behind me if I want a good view. Viewing angles are also excellent since it's an IPS display. The whole monitor is very light and power consumption is just around 24watts according to tech sheet.
Cons:
No height adjust
No HDMI cable included
Speakers are not good, my tiny $20 JBL Go Bluetooth speaker is way better.
Overall, this IPS monitor is bang for the buck if you're not into 4K or 144Hz yet. This monitor is perfect for me as I only play casually and just needs 1080p for resolution in 60Hz. Browsing and watching videos can be handled flawlessly by this monitor. Because of its frameless design, I'm thinking of getting another one for dual monitor setup :)
