 Ginisang sayote with pork and prawns

This is a classic Filipino comfort food best served hot with freshly boiled rice.

Chayote (Sechium edule), also known as mirliton and choko, is an edible plant belonging to the gourd family, Cucurbitaceae. -wikipedia



What you need:

 2pcs Sayote (Chayote)
Pork or any meat that you prefer
1 pc Tomato
Onion
Garlic
Spring onions
Spinach or Kangkong
Patis (Fish sauce)
Sat and pepper to taste


INSTRUCTIONS:


1. Cut your vegies then the meat of choice.

2. Saute the meat in chicken oil until brown. Then add the garlic, onions and scallions. 

3. Add the chopped tomato and season with patis.

4. Then the sayote.

5. Stir fry for about a minute then add 300 ml water. Let it simmer until the sayote is cooked.

6. Add the prawns and continue to cook for a minute.

7. Lastly add your spinach or kangkong.

8. Mix and season with salt and pepper to taste.

9. add more patis if preferred.

10. Serve with freshly boiled rice!
