REVIEW: Aldi's Pad Thai Meal Kit

Pad Thai is one of our best seller in the resto, so when I saw this Pad Thai kit from Aldi, I wondered if it's any good.

So here's the challenge.

I'm going to cook this as closely as I can as per instructions, then from there I'm going to rate it. Then upgrade it to restaurant level on my next post!

This kit is 2.50 Euro

Let's go!

This are what's included in the meal kit (Rice noodles, sauce and peanuts)

Soak noodles in hot water for 20 minutes.

Scrambled eggs, scallions and chili

Stir fry the chicken or any meat you want. I'm using chicken.

Add the noodles, scrambled eggs and the sauce and stir fry in high heat.

Easy peasy right! The only issue I find on this kit is the sauce, it's definitely on the sweet side and it's already starting to be as sweet as the Filipino Jollibee spaghetti hahaha.

Overall, it's pretty descent and just needs a few adjustment on the sauce, also don't dare squeeze any lemon or lime on it cause it's gonna taste like an asian sweet and sour noodles.

On my next post I will try to cook this again but this time, I will adjust the taste of the sauce and add a few more ingredients to make the sauce taste closer to the authentic Pad Thai that you can buy in Bangkok.
