It doesn't have to be a special day to enjoy a good rib eye steak. Today is just one of those days that I wanted something quick but fancy. Well not so fancy as I'm not cooking Angus or Wagyu beef but an affordable but quality rib eye steak from Aldi.
2 piece ribeye steak and baby corn side. Total cost: 8.5 euro |
This 2 piece steak is less than 10 Euro, and I'll cook it in less than 10 minutes including the baby corn sides.
Lets go!
30 day mature rib eye steak from Aldi (7euro) |
Pat dry with paper towel |
Salt, black pepper and garlic granules on both sides |
Get your thyme ready! |
Get your oil very hot and fry 2-3 minutes on one side |
Flip the steaks once you get a good sear on the first side |
Add your butter and fresh thymes, baste with the melted butter. Set aside. |
Stir fry the baby corns in high heat for a minute, don't forget to scrape all those flavours sticking on the pan. |
Thymes go on the top and the corns on the side. |
Super tender and juicy! |
t |
Look at that fat! It's literally to die for hahaha.

As a Filipino, I usually serve this with white rice and red wine.
Speaking of wine, on my future post, I will be teaching you guys how to make home made wine that would go great with this incredible steak! Keep posted!
